Easter Holidays / Eid

School will be ending for the Easter break on Friday 22nd March 2024. The children will resume school on Monday 8th April 2024.

The celebration of Eid ul-Fitr is due to take place soon after we come back to school on 8th April; we will provide you with an update on the evening of 8th April 2024.

School will be open for those who are not celebrating Eid on a particular day or who do not celebrate Eid.

Children are allowed ONE day for religious observance; please ensure that children are back to school as soon as possible to limit time lost from learning.

Wishing our Muslim families a peaceful Ramadan and our Christian families a Happy Easter.

Attendance

Please note: If your child is absent, you must inform the school on the morning of the absence. Please do this via the Arbor App or by phoning the school office on 0121 464 3348.

We aim for the best education for your children at City Road Primary School. Full attendance and punctuality are essential for your child to make the maximum progress.

To reach the school target, pupils must not have any more than 6 days off per academic year. If you need to make appointments for your child, please aim to make them outside of school hours or during the school holidays. Thank you.

Uniform

Please ensure that your child always comes to school in the correct full school uniform and footwear.  Please ensure they also have the correct PE kit and black pumps or trainers.

Donations needed

If you have any uniform in good condition that your child has grown out of, we would be grateful for donations.

Parents Evening

We would like to remind you about our upcoming parents' evening on Wednesday 17th April 2024. This is an opportunity for you to discuss your child's progress. We encourage you to attend and look forward to seeing you there.

If you have not yet done so, please book an appointment with your child's class teacher on the Arbor app.

Please let us know if you have any questions or need further information.

Mobile Phones

This is a gentle reminder not to use mobile phones whilst on the school site.

This is part of our safe-guarding policy for all our children.

After School Clubs

After-school clubs will start on the week beginning 15th April. Parents of all children allocated a place for each club have been informed.

Arbor App

Please use the Arbor app as the preferred way of communicating between home and school.

Sometimes we will send out text messages for more urgent matters or if you have not yet read the in-app message – these will appear as a mobile phone number. You can save this number, so you will know these messages are from school.

You can also reply to text messages if you wish to update the school on something.

There will be support available to you during the parents' evening; please come and see our staff, who will be more than happy to help.

Fundraiser

Thank you to the School Council, Mrs Jandu and all the other staff who have helped with organising the raffle, sales of food and chocolates and making the hampers!

The School Council will be working with Tescos and the staff to create amazing Relax and Reflect Zones as well as renovating the school garden into a lovely calm mental-well being area for all the children in City Road to enjoy.

If you would like to donate plants, seeds, plant pots, wind chimes, plastic animals, gnomes and wellington boots, we will be very grateful.
