Message from the Head of School

Dear City Road Primary School Community,

As we approach the end of another successful academic year, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been a year filled with growth, achievements, and many memorable moments. I am incredibly proud of our children, staff, and the entire school community for everything we’ve accomplished together.

As we reflect on the past year and look forward to the next, I am filled with optimism and excitement. I feel very fortunate to be in a role I love, supported by a dedicated and passionate team committed to our children’s success. The milestones we've celebrated, the challenges we've encountered, and the progress we continue to make all contribute to the vibrant, nurturing learning environment we are proud to foster at City Road Primary School.

Your ongoing engagement and support are central to everything we do, and we are sincerely grateful to all our families for being such a vital and positive part of our school community.

On behalf of everyone at City Road Primary School, I wish you a safe, happy, and restful summer holiday—hopefully with plenty of sunshine! Enjoy time with family and friends, make special memories, and return refreshed for the new school year.

We look forward to welcoming all our children back in September for another exciting year of learning and growth.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Uniform

As we begin a new school year in September, we kindly remind parents and carers that all children are expected to wear the correct school uniform, including appropriate footwear.

PE Kit

Please also ensure your child brings their full PE kit to school on the relevant days.

Punctuality

Please remember the school timings:

  • Morning registration: 8:55am -9:00am (gates open at 8:45am)

  • End of the day: EYFS and KS1 3:25pm

  • End of the day: KS2 is 3:30pm

Good attendance and punctuality play a key role in your child’s learning and success at school.

Summer Fayre

The Summer Fayre was a wonderful celebration, bringing families, staff, and the wider community together for a meaningful cause. We have raised £2730.27 for children’s enrichment days, which is a fantastic achievement, and the variety of activities—from the bouncy castle to mendhi—made the day truly special. It’s amazing what teamwork and dedication can accomplish!

Educational Visits

Y2 Weston Super Mare

Y2 had a fantastic day at Weston-Super-Mare. They paddled in the sea, made sandcastles and ate ice-cream. They didn't want to come back!

Y4 Barry Island Beech Trip

Year 4 went to Barry Island as part of their Geography and Science Curriculum. Not only did they get to look at rock pools and observe coastal erosion, they got to have a paddle in the sea and play on the sand. A great time was had by all.

Year 6 Leavers

Goodbye, Year 6!
To our departing Year 6 pupils, we wish you every success as you move on to secondary school. You have been an important part of our community, and we are confident you are well-prepared for the exciting new challenges ahead. We will miss you and hope you carry many fond memories of your time at City Road Primary School with you!
