Prospectus : Information For Parents


City Road Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment :

City Road Primary Academy will fulfil local and national responsibilities as laid out in the following documents:

If you have any concerns that a child has been harmed or is at risk of harm please contact the School Office as soon as possible and ask to speak to any of the following staff :

Our uniform consists of navy blue sweatshirt/cardigan, white polo shirt and black/grey trouser, skirt or pinafore. Footwear should be black, sturdy shoes (not trainers).

Uniform with the academy logo is available to buy from the office :

  • Sweatshirts £7.50.
  • P.E. kit should consist of : Gold school T-shirt £5.50, black shorts and black pumps. PE bags are £2.50.
  • Book bags cost £5.50.

Milk Money

£1.00 a week.  We ask parents to pay for milk in advance on a half termly basis.  Milk is free is for the under 5’s.

Trip Money

A voluntary contribution towards trips is requested from parents. We rely on this contribution in order to fund them if insufficient contributions are received the trip may not be able to take place.

Milk money and trip money are to be given to the class teacher in a secure envelope, clearly labelled with the child’s name, class and what the money is for, ensuring that the correct amount is enclosed as change cannot be given.  Sorry, money cannot be accepted at the office.

Dinner Arrangements

Pupils may have a hot dinner, bring a packed lunch; however we ask that pupils continue with one of these options on a half term basis.

  • Any child wishing to change their meal arrangements must let the office staff know at the end of each half term. Please come to the office to complete the authorisation slip. No changes will be allowed during term time, unless your circumstances change and you become entitled to free meals or your entitlement ends
  • Parents must pay dinner money on Mondays or on the first day of attendance after illness or holiday. No arrears can be incurred.
  • Dinner money must be paid to the class teacher in a secure and clearly labelled envelope (child’s name, class and what the money is for), ensuring that correct amount is enclosed as change cannot be given. The current charge for meals is £9.00 per week
  • If your child is running late and is staying for dinner, then please let the office know before 9.30 am so that a meal may be ordered for them otherwise alternative arrangements will have to be made.
